Life Medical Centre is proud to announce that Dr Michelle Reiss has been part of an international expert panel of 13 Lifestyle Medicine pioneers and change-makers who this month published the FIRST international paper on Lifestyle Medicine Intensivist core competencies.
This achievement sets the stage for training Lifestyle Medicine “specialists” who wish to provide medical care for intensive weight-loss and lifestyle change to reverse chronic disease and reduce medication burden.
“In addition to medical knowledge and other foundational skills of medical practice, a core element of all Lifestyle Medicine intervention is supporting health behaviour changes in patients.”
As the only Australian to be represented on this paper, it's a significant reflection of the clinical work and industry recognition Michelle brings to Lifestyle Medicine within Primary Care.
